The Boy I've Never Met

My whole life I have been dreaming
And praying about a person like you.
So I took a chance with my heart quickly beating
That maybe you would feel the same way too.

I didn't' want to scare you off
Like what has happened to me in the past,
But I knew my heart was ready
For a true relationship that would last.

So I sent you a message.
I took a big chance.

We started talking then,
Just a few messages a day,
And while we talked I always wondered

The answer came when you asked for my number

Hours were spent keeping in touch.
Early morning conversations at the airport
And the late nights chats at work.
We seemed to be intrigued by each other;
We were both being such a huge flirt.

A few messages turned into multiple,
And the days turned into weeks.
As time progressed we became closer,
And I felt like we've known each other forever.

I know your past, how you used to love another.
It hurts me a little, but I'll continue to look past that.
Patience is a virtue, and time will heal
So just know I'll always be here, praying for you.

I know its not going to be easy,
Long distance relationships never are.
But with the help of God,
We can make it through this.


Words cannot fully describe how I feel about you Jake. There's something unique about you. First of all, I love your passion to help others, encouraging them with God's Word. You point me back to Christ and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate that. God has amazing things in store for you; I can just feel it. I also love how you are always willing to listen to me, even when I am a wreck. I love your smile; its the most attractive thing about you. I love how your cute texts and snapchats always make me blush and smile in front of my friends. I've gotten so many people tell me, "It's about time someone appreciates you for who you are".  I love your past because it has made you the person who you are today; the person that I am quickly falling for.
